July 27 – August 5, 2015
A million animals on the move, Africa’s big predators in abundance, red-robed Maasai warriors and Out of Africa scenery – if you’re looking for that quintessential East African safari experience, then a Masai Mara safari delivers exactly want you think it should.
The safari is based in the beautiful Mara North Conservancy. This conservancy forms the vital northwestern zone within the Masai Mara Ecosystem and borders the Masai Mara National Game Reserve to the south.
More importantly, the Mara North Conservancy is a key dispersal area of the great wildebeest migration and offers a very important habitat area for a unique concentration of African wild animals, birds, rich vegetation and open savannah.
One of the jewels of the Maasai Mara is the Private Tented camp that we have reserved, and for those who want a taste of the Maasai Mara, want to experience the feel of the bush yet are not prepared to give up some of the home comforts, this is the place to be. The Private camp can only be booked by one group at a time, so it is ours to enjoy, and as the name suggests, in Private. It is located on a bend of the Mara river where the animals come to drink, where the hippo laze in the shallows and where the elephant bring their young for a dip.
Large comfortable tents are designed to offer guests the traditional safari experience of times gone by. The tents are luxurious with handmade furniture, each has its own private bathroom with flush toilets and hot showers whenever you wish. Further each suite has been positioned on wooden platforms with extended verandahs.

Day 1 – On arrival at Maasai Mara airstrip, we will be greeted by lodge personnel and transferred to camp. With 10 days of game viewing, we will have ample opportunity to focus on the resident predators as well as the migration of the wildebeest and Zebra at Maasai Mara, especially its host of lion and leopard and cheetah. Expect daily sightings of predators, general game and birds of prey, – plus due to the length of our stay, we get to fully explore the area and choose each days plan.
