Sabi Sand South Africa, Sept 20 - 29, 2015
The ultimate Predator workshop & Safari
Images in Africa Safaris offer 10 day Wildlife Safari & Photography Workshop
1 photographer per row of seating in Game Drive Vehicle
Join wildlife and adventure photographer Gavin Slabbert for this 10 day action-packed wildlife safari and photography workshop at Chitwa Chitwa in the heart of the world renowned Sabi Sand Private game reserve which is in the heart of South Africa’s big cat country.
This photography workshop has been specially designed around southern Africa’s predators and big game. This is a Photography workshop & Wildlife Safari that not only promises Big Cat close encounters, but will provide a wildlife rich experience for the spouse or non-photographer partner. You will head home with additional photography skills as well as unbelievable images of Southern Africa's big cats, including images of Southern Africa's elusive and iconic leopard.
Additionally you will also see the critically endangered Rhino as well as many Southern Africa's spectacular critters such as Elephant, Hyena, Giraffe, Plains Zebra, Hippo, Baboons, Warthog, Kudu and Impala, just to name but a few.
But with all of the big predators you will experience on the safari, do not lose sight of the smaller creatures that make up the bush, like the flap neck Chameleon, the Stick Insect, Mongoose, Honey Badger and so on.
Gavin will provide instruction before during and after each shoot, and will share his secrets to capturing the elusive “dramatic moment”.
Track the big five as you become immersed in the diverse wildlife and unique cultures of Southern Africa. Enjoy and experience the all inclusive deluxe accommodation, service, hospitality and ethnic cuisine catered by our private chef.
The lodge is situated in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve in South Africa, and shares an un-fenced border with the Kruger National Park, an African jewel, with a diverse abundance of wildlife.
Set in a comfortable environment, and offers a combination of luxury, affordability and a true safari experience where guests become one with nature.
Each of the individually decorated suites opens onto a private lake-view deck with its own private plunge pool, framed by a spacious timber deck that overlooks the nearby lake – a popular drinking hole for our wealth of wildlife. All of the suites are spacious (1700 - 1900 sq ft.) and are individually decorated in a custom motif.
We also have reserved a 2 room suite that is a superb solution for 2 photographer friends and their partners travelling together. This suite is just under 4000 sq ft, and consists of two splendidly appointed inter-leading en-suite rooms joined by a comfortable living area, with a spacious common lake view deck and a swimming pool that complements this unit.
All the suites include a bath-tub, indoor and outdoor shower, fireplace, minibar, fan, hairdryer, tea coffee making facility and an iPod docking station.
As you experience the awakening of the bushveld, your experienced ranger and tracker set you out on a drive to endure the smell of the bushveld as a fresh encounter unfolds before your eyes. The day is filled with opportunity as you are beckoned into the heart of Africa.
In their own words:
The luxury lodge earned its name as an affectionate ode to the aging giraffe bull who shared the lakeside home as an extended member of the family. Accordingly, the majestic arrival of this regal animal was always signaled by the creaking of his old joints. Still today, his watchful essence is felt presiding over the lodge. Much like this giraffe, the lodge is magnificent and graceful in appearance, yet humble enough to evaporate into the surrounding beauty of the unspoiled bush of the Sabi Sand.
After its classic transformation into an eclectic blend of European style with African chic, the facility has emerged as an exquisite balance between unbridled luxury and environmental harmony, an oasis of conservation.
